Bay Life Academy is an independent, non-profit, private Christian School that specializes in ministering to the unique needs of children with learning disabilities and their families. BLA serves students in grades K-8; providing a continuum of services based on the individual requirements of each student. We provide a positive learning environment for students with Specific Learning Disabilities, Autism, Asperger’s, Speech and Language disorders, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Emotional/Social disorders and Cognitive and/or Developmental delays.

Our History...
Bay Life Academy was founded in January 2003 by Chris and Bernadette Pello with a vision to educate students with special needs. Chris, a Christian school principal and Bernadette, a business executive, recognized the lack of quality educational services available for students in a Christian school environment. They opened the doors of the school, originally called Brandon Prep, with 35 students in Brandon, Florida to meet this need in the community.
In August of 2004, Brandon Prep moved to the campus at Bay Life Church and changed the name of the school to Bay Life Academy. Over the next three years, BLA continued to grow and expand the programs and services offered. In August of 2007, BLA moved to their current location in Seffner, Florida. Today, we are currently at maximum capacity, serving over 100 students in our 8000 square foot facility on a five acre campus.

Our Future...
BLA opened up a second campus, called Livingstone Academy, in August 2011 in Riverview, Florida. BLA acquired physical space from a local church that will facilitate the expansion of our current school. The new space will accommodate three classrooms serving approximately 60 students. Our plan is that by August 2013, we will build our own facility in Riverview, thereby enabling us to continue to reach the ever increasing educational needs of that community. As God leads, we remain open to the possibility of further expansion throughout the Tampa Bay area.
